Break to Build - Ditch Toxic Relationships

Have you ever heard of the phrase, “you are the average of your friends”? Your friends play a very significant role in your life and are capable of influencing your beliefs, opinions, and behavior. The best thing you can do for yourself is to surround yourself with positive people. The worst thing you can do is surround yourself with toxic relationships.

As you go through the different phases of your life, you will make and lose friends which is all part of growing up. It is very important to assess each relationship and gauge whether or not that relationship is increasing the overall quality of your life or is it impeding your personal growth. Getting rid of any toxic relationships is not an easy task, but you will be much happier once you get over the hill.

In order to grow and succeed, you must go through changes in life including making tough decisions such as ending ties with toxic relationships. People who are unsuccessful will begrudge the evolution and change that is necessary to happen within yourself. Successful people will be generally happy for you and do whatever it takes to support your goals and ambitions.

Positive people influence you and make you feel good about yourself because they feel good about themselves. They help you build confidence in yourself because they are confident in themselves. They stimulate your mind by challenging your thoughts because they are respectfully opinionated. Positive people are there when you begin to doubt yourself and help you make an informative decision. They are not threatened by you or your success.

When you're surrounded by good people, you're surrounded by life. You'll be less stressed and find more joy in daily things. Today, make a commitment to start spending more time with the positive people in your life.
